Wind Breaker Review

From the first episode this show has been something else. What could have easily just been another run of the mill delinquent show about kicking arse and taking names, turns out to have a lot of heart and meaning to every situation.

We follow the new kid in town, Haruka Sakura, as he has come to become the top kid at the school, Furin High, a place known for the strongest of fighters. Not even ten minutes in town, we find him placing himself between a gang of thugs and a local store owner. As the fight looks grim and his back is literally against the wall , is when other kids from Furin show up to help. Turns out Furin High isn’t just some school but it’s a protector of the town. This causes Haruka to think about what his true motives are and should be.

With some of the best animated fight scenes I have seen in a show, with a surprising amount of heart and humor to boot, every episode is it's own microcosm getting both sides of a situation to come across the same as a whole fight arc in shows like one piece and such. This is just the first 12 episodes. There isn’t a wasted or boring episode among them. This show turned out to be one of the best of the season and I for one am looking forward to watching it, only for it to get even better.

I give Wind Breakers a solid 4/5 (only down side is me wanting more episodes right now..)
